Those tire caps can do quite a bit of damage, and they do scare the shit out of a guy when they let go.

Years ago, I was driving behind a semi on the highway and one of those came off and hit my windshield. Lucky I wasn't hurt, there wasn't much traffic, so I didn't hit anyone, but I was shaken up.
